Glory 33: Results

Glory 33 was an action-packed event. Twitter followers were able to keep up with what was going on through the live-tweets of NewYorkFighting.com contributor @pariunderthesea.

Notable highlights include Chi “Chopper” Lewis-Parry (UK) calling out Rico Verhoeven (NL) moments after his win against Anthony “Joker” McDonald (USA).

Francois Ambang (USA) showed why he was “BangBang” with a unanimous win over Daniel “Machina” Morales (MEX).

With the Middleweight World Title on the line, Jason “Psycho” Wilnis (NL) knocked Simon Marcus (CAN) silly to reclaim his belt.

The women’s Bantamweight bout also thrilled, with a superfight between Daniela Graf (GER) and Jessica “Thumper” Gladstone (CAN), who filled in short notice and ultimately won the bout.

Hesdy “Fighter’s Heart” Gerges (EG) put up against Guto Inocente (BR), but the win went to Inocente via split decision.

Kevin VanNostrand (USA) came in with a second-round TKO over David “Man of God” Moore (USA).

The Superfights also pleased, with Zarrukh Adashev winning by unanimous decision over Amine Ballafrikh, and Jennie Nedell taking a victory home in her Glory debut with her win against Anna Shearer.

The Featherweight Tournament of the night highlighted Matt “Matics” Embree’s (CAN) technical skills and his hook that sent his opponents literally flying backwards.

The King of KickboxingRico Verhoeven defended the Heavyweight World Title against Anderson “Braddock” Silva (BR), finishing the night with a second-round TKO.

Some of the greatest were in attendance for the event, including JiuJitsu legend and former PRIDE fighter Renzo Gracie, as well as UFC’s Chris Weidman. Energy was high as WWE commentator Mauro Ranallo covered the fight, which was being shown on both UFC FightPass and ESPN 2.
