Liam McGeary victorious over Tito Ortiz

Bellator light-heavyweight champion, New York‘s own, Liam McGeary defeated Tito Ortiz in Saturday’s “Bellator 142: Dynamite” main event.

In a Spike-televised headliner at San Jose’s SAP Center, McGeary (11-0 MMA, 8-0 BMMA) was able to fend off Ortiz’s (18-12-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) early ground & pound attempts after Tito secured a take down placing McGeary on his back against the cage. While defending himself from Tito’s control grips  and ground strikes, McGeary was able to synch in an inverted triangle choke for the win in the closing seconds of round one.
